Tempsens Instruments (India) opened the 3-day subscription window for its IPO today. Retail investors and institutions got the first opportunity to subscribe to the leading temperature-sensing and specialised cable manufacturer in the country. The company has a dominant market share and appeals to investors with an export footprint across 80+ countries. Right from the opening bell, it attracted high interest from investors.

The Tempsens Instruments (India) IPO is a book-built issue of ₹650 crore. This includes a fresh issue of 0.32 crore equity shares that make up ₹95 crore. It also comprises an offer for sale (OFS) of 1.85 crore shares, worth ₹555.00 crore, from promoters and other selling shareholders. The company will use the fresh proceeds toward capital expenditure for electrical heating and specialised cable solutions. For investors, the subscription window for the IPO remains open from Thursday, August 20, 2026, to Monday, August 24, 2026. The allotments will be finalised on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

Refunds will be initiated to bidders on August 27, 2026, while successful subscribers will get the shares credited to their demat accounts on the same day. The stock is likely to be listed both on the BSE and NSE on Friday, August 28, 2026.

The issue price of the stock ranges from ₹285 to ₹300 per share. Retail investors need to bid in lots of 50 shares, which means the minimum investment is ₹15,000 at the upper cut-off price.

Tempsens Instruments was incorporated in 1990 as a thermal engineering and specialised cable manufacturer. It is associated with manufacturing customised temperature sensing solutions, specialised cables, and electrical heating solutions. Tempsens Instruments is the largest manufacturer of temperature sensors (both contact and non-contact) in India in terms of revenue. Currently, the company commands around a 10.5% share in the market as of March 2026.

Financially, the company is strong and has posted a steady growth trend. The total income of Tempsens Instruments increased from ₹278.04 crore in FY24 to ₹382.47 crore in FY25. In FY26, the income rose further to ₹455.86 crore.

Subscription status on Day 1

The Tempsens Instruments (India) IPO recorded an enthusiastic response from subscribers right from the opening day. The first day closed with an overall subscription of 5.95 times. The strongest numbers were seen in the Non-Institutional Investor (NII) category, with a 12.51x subscription. Small-ticket bidders below ₹10 lakh subscribed 20.75 times, while big-ticket bidders above ₹10 lakh subscribed 8.39 times.

Retail Individual Investors bid a healthy 6.48 times their allotted quota. The employee reservation, which was carved out separately for this issue, was subscribed 9.43 times. The QIB portion recorded a modest 0.05-time subscription excluding anchor allocation. This number is in line with the usual pattern, with investors holding back their bids until they near the closing date.

Tempsens Instruments raised ₹194.55 crore on August 19, 2026, ahead of the opening of the IPO, from anchor investors.
