NMDC appoints Vinod Kumar Tripathi as Government Director effective October 12, 2026. Tripathi replaces Abhijit Narendra following Ministry of Steel order dated October 12, 2026. New director is Joint Secretary at Ministry of Steel and IIT Roorkee alumnus.

NMDC YTD iron ore production jumps 22.8% to 27.27 million tonne

NMDC YTD iron ore production rose 22.8% to 27.27 million tonne. September production increased 7.7% YoY to 4.04 million tonne. YTD sales remained flat at 22.23 million tonne despite higher output. Chhattisgarh operations contributed 18.92 million tonne to YTD production.

NMDC 68th AGM passes all 9 resolutions; voting results disclosed

All 9 resolutions at NMDC's 68th AGM held on September 28, 2026 were passed via e-voting through NSDL. Final dividend of ₹1.00 per equity share for FY26 approved with 99.9978% votes in favour; interim dividend of ₹2.50 per share was already paid. Re-appointment of Shri Abhijit Narendra saw the narrowest margin, with 86.45% votes in favour overall and near-even split among public institutional investors. Three new directors appointed: Shri Krishna Kumar Thakur (Personnel), Shri Anurag Kapil (Finance), and Shri Vivek Nishant Nath (Commercial). Secretarial audit flagged inadequate Independent Directors and absence of a Woman Independent Director on the Board.

NMDC commissions ₹5,427 crore iron ore processing and pellet plant in Chhattisgarh

Commissioned a ₹5,427 crore integrated iron ore project in Chhattisgarh. Includes 15 MTPA slurry pipeline and 2 MTPA pellet plant. Pipeline spans 135 km from Bacheli to Nagarnar, reducing road transport dependency. Enhances utilization of iron ore fines and slimes from Bailadila mines. Supports NMDC’s long-term goal of 100 million tonnes production capacity.

NMDC targets net zero operational emissions by 2047 with 90% reduction goal

NMDC targets net zero operational emissions by 2047. Company aims for at least 90% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions. Roadmap includes six strategic pillars and three implementation phases. Current initiatives include 10.5 MW wind facility and solar installations.

NMDC fixes iron ore prices effective September 9, 2026. Lump ore priced at ₹5,400 per ton for 65.5% grade. Fines valued at ₹4,500 per ton for 64% grade. Prices are Free on Rail excluding taxes and duties.
