Markel Insurance appointed Nick Rugg as Head of Financial Institutions & Fintech – PFR & Cyber within its London-based specialty insurance operation, effective immediately. Rugg will oversee four product lines: Investment Managers, Fintech, Traditional Financial Institutions, and Offshore Financial Institutions. He joined Markel in 2014 as an underwriter and most recently served as Head of Fintech and Investment Management Insurance. Rugg brings more than 20 years of underwriting experience, including a prior role as a financial institutions underwriter at Arch Europe. The appointment follows Bhavik Desai's elevation to Managing Director of PFR & Cyber in London.
