Western Carriers inaugurated its General Cargo Terminal at the GCD Yard, Kolkata Dock System, on September 11, 2026. The facility operates under a 15-year agreement with the Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port Authority (SMPA). Initial civil development investment is estimated at ₹13.68 crore, with Phase II planned within 90 days. The terminal handles dry bulk, break-bulk, and all container categories, leveraging rail and road connectivity. This expansion complements the company's existing multimodal terminal in Devaliya, Gujarat.
